Posted by Michael Butler on November 4, 2010 at 6:50 AM

Friday 8th October saw the final Goodrich Golf society match of the 2010 season.

The Mentmore Country Club venue had one of the highest attendances for the year with 27 members turning out to compete for the Autumn Cup Trophy.

After a great afternoons golf, with near perfect weather conditions, Giles Mason was the eventual winner taking the competition on count back from Trevor Williams both of which had 36 points. Howard Rawdon took the day’s third place, one point behind the leaders.

Howard received 6 Player Of The year points for his third place taking his years total to 44 and securing the title. This has been a consistent year for Howard who seen his handicap drop from 17 to 13.

The singles match play trophy was also presented following the evening buffet. The singles trophy was contested in the final between Howard Rawdon and Mike Butler. With a resurgent last half to the season, which saw him climb to 3rd in the Player of the year standings, and against the form book it was Mike who came away winner.

The doubles match play trophy final was contested by Mark Wilson & John Metcalfe versus Giles Mason & Mike Butler. Despite playing at Marks home course, Giles and Mike came away eventual winners sealing it on the eighteenth green
